BROADOAK School in Partington gained record results this year with 92 per cent of pupils gaining 5+A*-C grades.

Headteacher, Andy Griffin said:" It's time to celebrate the successes of the town, this group of pupils has worked very hard as have their teachers. Recently Partington won a gold medal in the RHS Tatton Flower Show. Today our pupils have won gold too. Our highest achiever, Simon Holt, gained 7A*, 2A and 7B grades."

He added there is a real positive feeling in Partington. The Sports Village and The Fuse on the school site create great opportunities for Trafford and the young people have responded by grasping their own opportunities, producing results that are remarkable for a secondary modern school. Asked what has made the difference, Mr Griffin added: "It's important to make sure pupils are given choices to allow them to pursue their interests and to give them skills for the work place.

“OFSTED said our curriculum is outstanding. The great results we have this year show all pupils can be engaged and motivated with the right choices and the excellent work of our staff and of course the determination of our pupils."
