WELLINGTON School pupils are celebrating ‘outstanding’ GCSE results.

More than two thirds of the pupils at the Timperley school - 68 per cent - achieved five or more subjects at A* - C including English and Maths.

Headteacher Julie Armstrong said: “These results reflect the hard work and commitment of students and all staff at the school, both teaching and non teaching.

“We are all tremendously proud of the fact that 100 per cent of students gained at least five GCSEs at all grades demonstrating that students at Wellington will succeed whatever their ability.

“The School offers only GCSE courses and all students study a modern foreign language and a full technology course.

“Many of our students will move into the sixth form in September to begin A Level courses. I am delighted that the class of 2011 have taken advantage of the opportunities presented to them at Wellington and have worked with an exceptional group of staff to produce these outstanding results.”
