Altrincham Grammar School pupil and his dad complete the Cheshire Cycleway for charity
11:00am Friday 4th September 2009 in News
AN ALTRINCHAM Grammar pupil and his father spent their bank holiday completing all 176-miles of the Cheshire Cycleway to raise money for cancer sufferers.
Sixteen-year-old Chris Graham and dad Alex, 55, braved the elements to finish the circular route in three days, stopping only to eat and sleep.
Despite receiving an excellent set of GCSE results, meaning he can now go on to study further maths, biology, chemistry and Spanish at A-level, Chris postponed the celebration to complete his mission.
Chris and Alex, from Wincham, Northwich, chose to raise funds for Cancer Research and cancer specialist hospital the Christie, as two family members and two family friends are currently battling the disease.
Money will also go to Chad’s Challenges – a fundrasing group set up at Chris’ school, in memory of his friend Chad Mulholland who lost his battle with cancer last August.
