It has been confirmed that the Cornish Pirates have taken the decision to loan 29 years old lock forward Ben Gulliver to Premiership side Leicester Tigers. The loan agreement is for a three month period from 1st September - 30th November 2010.
Speaking with reference to the decision, Cornish Pirates CEO, Rod Coward, said: “Leicester made their request to take Ben and much discussion has taken place to decide whether this was the right thing to do at this time.
“There is no doubt that Ben will benefit from the experience, which is a huge opportunity for him. Also, at the same time there are both short and long term benefits for the club in such an arrangement, and we are pleased with the loan.”
Mr Coward added: “We obviously recognise the impact this will have on the squad, but Chris (Stirling) and the coaching staff are confident that performance levels will be maintained.”
