Trafford police has revealed that by mid April just-under 50 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be fully trained and ready to act as the eyes and ears' of Trafford's four neighbourhood teams.
And, in a move to a more community focused' approach, they'll be stationed at outposts such as schools, libraries, supermarkets and train stations.

The outstations will enable PCSOs to spend all day on patrol on the streets but still have places where they can make phone calls, write reports and keep in contact with their area team.
Irwell Valley Housing's Sale West offices, Sale High School, Sale Grammar School and Hale Train Station are four of the locations that have already been confirmed.
Messenger joined up with four trainees: PCSOs Jane Barrett, Carlos Paulo, Lynette Fleming, from the Sale area team and Paul Davis from the Altrincham area.
To find out more about how they're getting on and how they'll work with the community you can watch their story now in an exclusive video, available from this Friday.
