Young entrepreneurs compete in final

ENTEPRENEURS from two Altrincham schools have made the regional final of a business competition, to be held today.

Pupils at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls made the top eight in a Manchester wide Young Enterprise competition following their idea of making jewellery from Scrabble pieces and poker chips.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys’ team have also made the final for their range of fruit smoothies, based on the seven deadly sins.

Both Esque (girls) and the Guilty Drinks Corporation (boys) will showcase their products to an expert panel of judges at The Bridgewater Hall.

The winner of this stage of the competition will then move onto the north west final, with the chance to represent the region at the national finals in July.

Suzanne Fairbairn, Young Enterprise Manager for Greater Manchester, said: “We’ve seen some great businesses set up by young people in Greater Manchester this year. I wish all the students the best.”
