PUPILS at Navigation Road Primary School, in Altrincham, received a surprise visit from one of the Olympic mascots.

This followed the national recognition the school received back in November as Get Set Network school of the month.

The Get Set Network is the games’ official education programme and Navigation Road was chosen out of all the schools taking part across the country for its commitment to Olympic and Paralympic values.

With less than 200 days left to go until the Games begin, mascot Wenlock travelled to Trafford, the north west’s only host borough, to meet pupils at the school last Thursday and joined in a morning of activities.

Executive councillor Jonathan Coupe said: “Navigation Road Primary School is a shining example of how the community can make the most out of the games coming to Trafford.”
