A GROUP of teachers who were suspended after it was reported that they held an
out-of-hours party on the grounds of Bollin Primary School have returned to work.
Seven teachers were suspended after a video emerged which appeared to show teachers and parents in the headteacher's office out of hours, in February.
But on Tuesday five of them returned to work. An investigation into the incident is still being carried out.
Former headteacher, Michelle Brindle, has now formally left the troubled school. A new headteacher, Kylie Spark, has taken the reins.
Messenger reported last week that an emergency Ofsted inspection described the school as in 'tatters' and broken'.
Cllr Brian Rigby, the chairman of the school's interim executive board, confirmed that five of the seven suspended teachers returned to work on Tuesday.
He continued: "We are making progress as quickly as possible. Our enquiry is still on-going but five of the seven suspended teachers have returned to work.
"I can't discuss the circumstances.
"I am very confident that standards of education will improve very rapidly."
