VIDA restaurant in Sale played host to a group of budding junior chefs.

Year One pupils from Springfield Primary went to the restaurant to create their own pizzas.

The visit tied in with their science work, during which they have been learning about different food groups.

The children had a great time experimenting with different ingredients and patterns to create their pizzas, thinking about the different food groups each topping would come from.

Assistant headteacher Andrew Moth said: "We now have a group of budding chefs in the making.

"Thank you to the parent helpers for coming with us and we hope they enjoyed the trip too. What a yummy day out."

Michael Gonzalez, from Vida, said: "As one of the owners of the restaurant, it was great that the school takes its children to businesses and we were very happy teach and provide an experience to the children. Maybe we will have taught a chef of the future."
