SALE High School's literacy week ended on a high with a successful ‘Poetry Slam’.
Students from all years competed by performing poems they had written in front of an audience of students and a judging panel of staff.
The students had written poems on a variety of topics. They were judged on the creativity and quality of their writing but also on the confidence of their performance.
The two runners up were Niamh Bown (Year 10) and Samhita Komaragiri (Year 7) and the overall winner was Akram Aouani (Year 7) .
Head teacher, Lynn Nicholls, said “The poetry slam was lovely. We heard some beautiful performances of poetry creations which were deep in meaning and well crafted.”
The school now plans on building it into a regular activity.
