LITERARY characters were brought to life at Broomwood Primary School on World Book Day.

Children at the Timperley school dressed as their favourite figures from books.

Headteacher Louse Hossen said it was a 'brilliant day'.

She said: "World Book Day was a huge success again at Broomwood Primary School.

"We were amazed by the overwhelming support from parents with the children’s costumes. They were incredible!

"We work really hard to try and expose the children to new authors and to help them to develop a love of reading.

"World Book Day gave the children the opportunity to share their reading experiences, not just with their friends but with the world via Twitter. "

There was a winner within each class for their innovative costume. They each received a book.
