CALLING all past pupils and friends of Oldfield Brow Primary School - your help is required.

The school is celebrating a new chapter in its story by holding an open day on December 7 during which there will be the official opening of the newly enlarged school.

The school was erected to accommodate 250 children between the ages of 5-11 and it opened in Monday 22nd August 1932.

The school was built to accommodate pupils on a newly built housing estate.

Before that. Seamons Moss endowed school had been the only school in the vicinity, and it was for boys from the area. Seamons Moss had been established in 1755 and was administered by the Countess of Stamford and later Earls of Stamford. It started at Oldfield House then transferring to a newly built school in 1867 on Oldfield Road.

By 1935 its pupils had transferred to Oldfield Brow Primary School.

Oldfield Brow Primary School has now doubled in size after a £4.5m expansion plan.

The expansion, has resulted in the school admitting a maximum of 420 pupils by 2020 and as of this September it has switched to a two-form entry system.

The search is now on for past pupils, memories, memorabilia and photographs.
