FLIXTON Girls School (FGS) threw open its doors to primary school pupils recently - and gave them a chance to dress up as characters from the Horrible Histories series.

FGS hosted its annual primary liaison event, along with Wellacre Academy, to give the primary pupils a chance to look around the school.

The event involved Year 6 girls coming to FGS while the boys attended Wellacre.

Students from Barton Clough, Gorse Hill, Highfield, Kingsway, Moss Park, St Marys, St Michaels, Urmston Juniors, Victoria Park and Woodhouse primary schools took part in the events across the two sites.

The girls attending FGS donned a variety of costumes, including those of Vikings and medieval garb.

The ‘Horrible Histories’ series of books was the main inspiration behind the taster lessons.
