STUDENTS of Manchester Health Academy have every reason TO celebrate their GCSE results.

There were some impressive individual results. The Academy’s highest performer, Sophie Smith, achieved an outstanding 7 A* and A grades amongst her 10 grades A* - C.

Other students who scored particularly highly include Bisma Hussein, Charlotte Howe, Chloe Norbury, Faye Taylor, Jack Beswick, Lucy Leech-Martin, Lucy Mabbott, Rebecca Hartley and Reece Bennet, who all achieved 10 grades A* - C.

Principal Mr Owen said: “I am very proud of the students whose hard work and determination to succeed is reflected in their results. I’m also very proud of the efforts made by the staff of the Academy in going the extra mile day after day to give students opportunities to experience this success.

"We were disappointed with outcomes in some areas; however exams are just one aspect of a good education. Our students leave the Academy with a rounded education, personal values, resilience and the potential to succeed in life no matter what path they choose. I wish each and every one the best for the future.”

The Academy has made good progress since opening in 2009 and was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2015, who said: “A culture of high expectations, aspiration, inclusion and care applies to all who attend the Academy”.

Student health and well-being and safety were all judged to be outstanding.

Manchester Health Academy will be hosting an open evening on September 22 from 6pm – 8pm, where visitors will be able to meet the principal and staff, tour the building and speak with current students about life at the Academy.
