WELLINGTON School students and staff are celebrating an outstanding haul of A-level results.

A rise in the number of students achieving the very top grades means that once again every student from the Timperley school who applied to university has gained a place, with the vast majority achieving their first choice.

Headteacher Stuart Beeley said: “Once again we are delighted to have seen so many smiling faces on results day. Our students should be as proud of their wonderful achievements as we are. It is just desserts for their hard work and dedication.”

The school has seen many students depart for Russell Group universities. Jemma Crosby heads off to read Chemistry at Durham after bagging three A* grades and Nathan Dean will read Medical Science at Edinburgh, following two A*s and an A grade.

Meanwhile, several students will begin professional apprenticeships in civil engineering, marketing and accountancy after being snapped up by leading multinationals, such as Siemens and Hydrock.

“Collectively, students and staff have worked as a real team and we have also seen some truly wonderful individual performances,” said Mr Beeley.

“Everyone at Wellington School wishes our students all the very best of luck on the next step of their journey.”
