A FLIXTON school went the extra mile to raise money for Sport Relief 2016.
Wellacre Academy joined many other schools around the country in celebrating Sport Relief last week.
Students and staff donned their sportswear and participated in the 'Wellacre Mile' on the school field.
Learning Directors also presented a range of assemblies to highlight the harsh realities faced by children throughout the world and the ways they will benefit from the funds generated by Sport Relief.
The PE Faculty organised extra sporting activities for students during break time and lunch time, helping to build awareness of the important charity event.
The school gave special thanks to Year 8 student Connor Pollitt for showing resilience whilst completing the 'Wellacre Mile' on his crutches.
All in all, the school raised £1475 for Sport Relief 2016.
