NORTH Cestrian Grammar School alumni are being invited to take a trip down memory lane next week.

Former pupils of North Cestrian Grammar School will gather to celebrate the Old Cestrians’ Association Diamond Anniversary on Friday February 5.

The association was formed in 1956, five years after the creation of the school by its founder Walter Hamblin. Two of the original committee will be attending the event, John Gresty and Donald Keeling.

The event will be a dinner, to be held in the newly named Vanstone Hall at North Cestrian. The evening starts at 6.30pm, when Upper Sixth Formers will be on hand to conduct guided tours of the school to those former pupils who have not been back recently.

Drinks will be available in the Hamblin Library from 6.30pm, where Old Cestrians and current and former staff will be able to meet to reminisce about their time at North Cestrian.

This will be followed by a three course meal in the School Hall. Guest speaker for the event will be former teacher Chris Robinson.

Places for the dinner can be booked and paid for by contacting School on 0161 928 1856. Bookings must be made by Friday January 29.
