A CHILDCARE provider in Altrincham has been highly commended in the National Day Nurseries Association’s Nursery Awards.

Elmscot Day Nursery was the runner-up in the Nursery of the Year – north of England category,.

Scores of parents wrote glowing testimonies to help Elmscot claim special recognition.

Manager Justyna Ogrodniczek, was delighted with the recognition from the NDNA and she said: “We are not to going to stop here - we continue to develop and improve our already outstanding practice and are already sharing our expertise and good practice within the broader early years sector, benefitting even more families.

“We would like to thank the NDNA for creating the ‘Highly Commended’ certificate for us and recognising how important excellent childcare is to us.”

The competition attracted votes for 7,000 parents and judges singled out Elmscot Day Nursery to be highly commended.

The nursery’s work to engage fathers and grandparents received particular praise.

Child-height shelving, attractive displays of their work and high standards of nutrition were all found to help to make Elmscot a top choice for families.

Representatives from Elmscot Day Nursery are set to attend the ceremony hosted by pop star and TV presenter, Toyah Willcox on June 11.
