FLIXTON Girls School has been chosen to receive an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award by being in the top 20% of schools nationally for progress made by pupils between their key stage 2 results at primary school and their GCSE results at age 16.

Headteacher, Julie Hazeldine said: "We are very proud to have been chosen for this award which is a direct reflection of the progress girls make when they attend our school. It is very important that all our students achieve to the best of their potential and this demonstrates that they are".

She joined director of Learner Services, Dorothy Trussell, at celebration ceremony to mark the achievement.
