EMILY Guest from Davyhulme Primary School was invited to Flixton Girls School (FGS) to be awarded with a competition prize of a £90 IPOD.

The prize was won by Emily when she attended the school’s open evening. The 10 year old took part in the competition, beating over a hundred other pupils to win the prize.

“I was so excited to win this,” said Emily. “The competition was great fun and the FGS students all gave us the confidence to take part. I’m glad I did."

The competition required the young visitors to complete a 'Fun Trail' which required them to visit all FGS departments and have a special card stamped. The cards were entered into a prize draw and Emily won.

Julie Hazeldine, headteacher of FGS said: “Well done Emily - she had some tough competition, as we had a lot of guests and therefore a lot of entries, but she is a deserving winner. We hope to welcome her to the school in a year’s time.”

The FGS open evening welcomed more than 400 visitors to the open evening in September.

The Open Evening featured science, sport and dance demonstrations as well as talks from the heads of departments and informal meetings with pupils and staff.
