TWO Year 11 students, Jordan-Luke McDonald and Alex Myall, travelled to London to represent Urmston Grammar School as part of the BBC School Report.

The boys were involved in a journalism masterclass at the BBC Broadcasting House in London – accounting for two of only six students invited to the event from across the UK; a somewhat impressive feat considering around 33,000 11-16 year olds are participating in the BBC School Report.

Jordan-Luke and Alex were significantly involved in the interviewing process and asked intelligent, searching questions of Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary about the party’s plans for education in the future, with the general election taking place next year.

As part of the experience, they were also permitted to access the Houses of Parliament, where the interview was held, and Mr Hunt gave the boys a unique guided tour of The Great Hall in Westminster Palace.
