BUDDING SKIERS from the Bollin Primary School in Bowdon have been learning the slopes in a great initiative organised by the local authority to celebrate the Winter Olympics.
Ten children, along with one willing member of staff, spent six weeks mastering the basics of skiing at Trafford’s Chill Factore ski centre, advancing onto the adult-sized blue run.
The pupils, who varied in expertise from previous skiers to those who had never done it before, made exceptional progress and many of them are now heading off into the mountains to perfect their new-found skills.
Joe Bradshaw, Year Six teacher at the Bollin who joined the pupils in the lessons, said:“This has been a superb series and the children have learned a huge amount.”
