A TRAFFORD school has launched an initiative to help combat obesity in adults and children.
Flixton Girls School (FGS) in Trafford is tackling the issue head on, with the launch of Fitness Fridays.
One Friday a month, all staff and students will take part in a variety of sessions covering everything from fitness testing, boxercise, and step aerobics to dance, circuit trainng.
The day has been launched with the help of an external Fitness Instructor. Lynn Wilson and the school’s first Fitness Friday took place on January 24 .
Deputy headteacher Lisa Fathers said: “It’s important that the staff are involved with this and embracing sport as a way of life and key to good health.”
