Leeds Building Society on track for £10,000 fundraising target
4:41pm Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
A TEAM of fourteen staff from Leeds Building Society’s Sales and Operations Team have raised more than £7,000 so far by taking part in the JubiLeeds Big Bike Ride.
The team has been cycling between 60 of the society’s branches, including the Sale one on School Road.
This is being done to mark the diamond jubilee year and to raise £10,000 between four charities; Martin House Children’s Hospice, Tiny Lives Special Care Baby Unit, St Gemma’s Hospice and The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust.Brian Lander, Sale branch manager, said, “We were delighted to receive a visit from members of the JubiLeeds Big Bike Ride team in Sale. Our members and colleagues in branch have been very generous in their support. We have also held supporting events to increase the fundraising totals further in Sale, as the Society’s other branches have also done.
“Colleagues from our back office units in Leeds and Newcastle have also held dress down days to assist the fundraising totals further.
“The fundraising total currently stands at £7,377.85. This will be supported by matched funding of £1,000 from Leeds Building Society, so we need to raise an extra £1,622.15 to reach our target.”
People can donate to the JubiLeeds appeal by visiting the JustGiving page at http://www.justgiving.com/JubiLeeds2012. There is also a collection tin at the Leeds Building Society Sale branch.
