Sale burglars crash stolen cars in separate incidents
5:03pm Tuesday 16th October 2012 in News
TWO serious and similar burglaries took place in Brooklands, Sale, this weekend.
Very late on Friday night (October 12) or in the early hours of Saturday morning, burglars entered a property on Framingham Road through an insecure patio window.
A number of valuable items were stolen, including a television, a Nintendo Wii, champagne, gin, games and toys, some of which have since been recovered by police.
The offenders also stole a car off the drive, which was later crashed not far from the address and abandoned.
In a very similar incident, between 3.30am and 4am on Sunday morning, burglars broke into a house on Alcester Road, this time through an insecure rear door.
Again a car was stolen, but the grey Ford Mondeo was crashed into parked cars as it turned towards nearby Norris Road a short time later and the offenders ran off.
Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked.
