AGE UK Trafford celebrated International Older People's Day on October 1 by holding an event at Cornerstone Church in Davyhulme.
The event covered a range of subjects including information stalls from interest groups and activities, the fire service, trading standards, Parkinson’s Society and Age UK Trafford itself.
The event was sponsored by SOS Homecare who covered the cost of room hire and a buffet lunch. Staff and volunteers at Age UK Trafford and SOS Homecare later enjoyed a celebratory cake which was cut by Richard Jackson, managing director of SOS Homecare.
Ann Marie Jones, chief executive of Age UK Trafford said: “We had a great day and were able to provide people over 50 with, not only information on safety and wellbeing, but also on social groups and activities they can get involved in. We are grateful to the sponsorship from Richard Jackson and SOS Homecare which enabled us to hold the event.”
