7:40am Friday 28th September 2012 in News By Kate Banks, Reporter
Over 370 shoppers queued outside the new Aldi store on Golden Way, Urmston, before the store was officially opened last week.
To celebrate, the supermarket gave away golden ticket prizes to the first 100 customers, as well as free food samples.
Charlie Lapinskas won the star prize of a back to school PC, with other customers winning items such as 22” LCD TVs, film scanners and more.
The new store will create 21 new jobs in the Urmston area.
Store manager, Paul Trueman, said: “There was a fantastic buzz down at the store and it was great to see so many people down here for our Golden Ticket opening event.
“Whilst our DJ host entertained the crowds, the team and I were only too pleased to introduce shoppers to Aldi’s extensive range of products at affordable prices.
“I look forward to welcoming even more customers to our new store over the coming months.”
