3:00pm Thursday 6th September 2012 in News By Kate Banks, Reporter
BETWEEN 500 and 800 tablets of MDMA were seized from a car during a traffic operation in Sale yesterday.
The car was chased down Washway Road, where the operation was taking place, after it failed to stop.
The occupants evaded capture, but the vehicle was later found abandoned in Sale town centre and was seized, along with the class A drugs which were found in a nearby bush.
Police will be making enquiries into the driver of the vehicle.
Another person was found with cannabis during the operation and was issued with a street warning.
Eight further people were fined £60 each for not having seat belts and four people were fined £60 and issued with three points for using mobile phones.
One person was found to be driving a vehicle that was declared to be off the road and was fined £100 and ordered to buy a new tax disc for £160.
The operation was carried out due to the recent number of accidents on Washway Road.
