THE Altrincham Macular Disease Society Group welcomes two speakers from the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital to its next meeting on July 4.
Barry Williams, manager of the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) and Helen Bateman, a lead ophthalmic nurse, will be attending to answer questions about services provided at the hospital.
The group’s leader, Dr Karen Barclay said: “As macular eye disease is the commonest cause of sight loss there are a lot of people affected by the condition. Many are patients at the eye hospital so our next meeting is an ideal opportunity to question the people involved in providing the service and to learn more about what help is available.”
The meeting runs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at the Sunrise Senior Living on Hale Road, Hale Barns. Anyone with the condition is welcome to attend - ring Dr Karen Barclay on 0161 980 5174 for further information.
