Manchester Airport Community Fund grant helps Friends of Ashton Park to refurbish park gates

A RIBBON-cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 30, to mark the refurbishment of the coronation gates at Ashton Park, Ashton-on-Mersey.

The cost of refurbishing the gates has been partly covered by an award obtained by the Friends of Ashton Park from Manchester Airport Community Fund.

The revamped gates will be opened at 1pm by the Mayor, Cllr Patricia Young.

Other grants have also been gained by the friends group to revitalise play and seating areas and enhance the parkland with new trees and plants.
