Sale Sports Club Jubilee Monday running challenges, sports fun day and fete
12:00pm Wednesday 30th May 2012 in News
FAMILIES and fun runners are being invited to take part in a ‘Sports Fun Day’ at Sale Sports Club on the jubilee bank holiday Monday on June 4.
Fun runs for everyone from toddlers to veterans will be staged at the club on Clarendon Crescent, Sale, followed by a programme of go-karting, zorbing, soccer shoot-outs, hockey challenges, face-paintingg, stalls and a bouncy castle.
The runs which vary in distance from 1k to 5k begin at 11am with activities stretching on until 4pm.
Competitors can enter online at www.mysport4life.co.uk or enter on the day.
Sports Development Officer, Rick Halkon, said: “The club is a fantastic venue with amazing grounds that offer the perfect venue for this kind of day.
“If we can get families to sign up online for the fun run at a cost of just £15 then we can guarantee them all a great day out. Individual entry online is £6 for adults and £3 for under-16s. There’ll be an opportunity for go-karting and zorbing as well as all the usual stalls and refreshments of a great jubilee fete.
“We’re a very important part of the community in Sale and wanted to do something on the bank holiday that everyone could share in - and help us raise funds for Christie Hospital and to re-develop our old clubhouse.
“We’re encouraging everybody to have a go at the fun runs from parents pushing prams to grandparents in fancy dress if they so wish. We want to have a great day for all and hopefully see people coming along who haven’t been into the club before so we can show them that this is their club as well.”
