Fees waived to allow development to go ahead
4:00pm Friday 18th May 2012 in News
PLANNING chiefs have agreed to waive developer contributions to allow a scheme to go ahead on a derelict site in Sale.
In March, the planning committee approved an application to demolish an empty and run-down house opposite Moorlands Junior School, on Broad Lane, and build four houses.
But developer Optimus Build claimed the £63,000 contributions it was liable for would prevent the scheme going ahead. These fund were earmarked for education, sport and recreation facilities, and highway, transport and environmental improvement schemes.
The planning committee agreed to waive the fees. The developer could still be liable for the charges if market conditions improve.
