FOUR Altrincham women who arrange annual charity dinners are celebrating passing the £2,000 mark from their fundraising efforts.

Julie Curran, Jeanette Rogers, Christine Anderson and Barbara Davis, pictured, hosted a ladies lunch at the Etrop Grange Hotel on April 22 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Julie said: “It’s absolutely brilliant to top £2,000. We’ve grown from 33 ladies in our first year to 88 this year. Hopefully we can get 100 ladies attending next year’s event.”

The four women rotate the choice of charity between them each year and are already starting to plan next year’s lunch.

Previous benefactors of the lunches include the children’s hospice Derian House and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
