MP and former Hale Barns schoolboy Greg Mulholland completed the Jane Tomlinson 10th Anniversary Challenge at the London Marathon on Sunday (April 22).

The marathon was the Leeds North West MP’s final leg of the eight day challenge, which saw him run in the Paris Marathon and then cycle from the French capital to London via Hull and Yorkshire.

Jane was the first terminally ill person to complete the London Marathon and former St Ambrose pupil Greg completed the challenge in her memory with Jane’s widower Mike, daughter Rebecca and four time Iron Man champion Chrissie Wellington.

Greg’s efforts were in aid of The Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Kidz in Kampz and the Leeds Rugby Foundation.

Greg, aged 41, said: “This was without doubt the toughest challenge I have ever taken on. The thought of all the money we were raising for these fantastic causes undoubtedly kept us going, as did the thoughts of Jane.”
