PLANNING chiefs have backed an application for National Grid to continue to use a site in Partington.
The company applied for planning permission to use land at the rear of a former gas works site, off Common Lane, as a soil treatment centre for a further three years.
Planning committee members agreed they were ‘minded to grant’ the application.
Planning committee member, Cllr John Smith, praised the company. He said that over the period it had been carrying out the work there had not been any problems, and its consultation had been first class.
