Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority raises barriers

THE height barrier to household waste recycling centres has increased to two metres in order to allow high-sided vehicles such as people carriers in. The increase is hoped to increase recycling rates and reduce residents journey times to recycling by enabling them access to their local site.

It is also to help Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority fulfil its ambition of zero waste to landfill.
