THE Rotary Club of Altrincham is again joining forces with the Salvation Army in Sale to bring some festive cheer to needy children in the borough.

They are holding their annual 'toys n tins' appeal to provide toys and food.

Appeal organisers are aiming to collect 3000 new toys for underprivileged families in the Trafford and surrounding areas.

They are appealing to Messenger readers to help them reach the target by donating toys and food, as they have done in previous years.

Donated toys must be new and unused. Tins of food can also include Christmas treats, including biscuits and chocolates.

There are collection points throughout the area. They are at: Altrincham - Rackhams (first floor café ), Wilkos, Randalls Jewellers, Boots, Marks and Spencer first floor café and ladies wear ground floor, Salvation Army George Street.

Timperley - Luxistore, Bocodillos cafe, Sauslito café.

Sale - Ashbrooks  Furniture Store, Washway Road and Salvation Army charity shop, Washway Road.

Father Christmas will will be visiting Altrincham on a number of occasions over the next few weeks, courtesy of Altrincham Rotary Club. 

He will be calling into the town on:

November 18, Rackhams first floor café 12-4pm - and then the Lights Switch  on in Stamford Square.

November 25, Wilkos store, George Street 12-4pm.

December 2, Goose Green  in The House wine bar/restaurant 12-4pm and then wave off the Lantern Parade which starts from Goose Green , across to Moss Lane, then along Railway Street /Stamford New Road to Regents Road and then along George Street to Stamford Square outside Rackhams.

December 9,  Kings Court from 12-4pm.

Santa will also be present at Tesco Altrincham on December 15, 16 and 17 from  approximately 11am-4.30pm.
