SHOPPERS at Stretford Mall have been proving just how generous they are, as more than £800 has been donated to Macmillan from the Bonmarché store.

The team at the popular womenswear store have been hosting a number of events throughout 2017 in a bid to raise money for the charity that supports those going through cancer treatment.

“I’m thrilled with how much has been donated by our great shoppers,” said Bonmarché store manager, Sammer Kureshi.

“It’s been a lot of fun planning and putting on the events and we even decorated the store in green for ‘Go Mad Go Green’.

“Our customers have really responded and I’m delighted that we’ve raised more than £800. In September, we’ll be taking part in The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and I’m hoping that we get to £1,000 before the end of the year. I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has donated already, it really means a lot.”

Stretford Mall Centre Manager, Gareth Wilkins, praised the charitable efforts of the team at Bonmarché. “As a key part of the Stretford community, we believe in supporting charities whenever we can so it’s fantastic to hear that the team in-store have raised so much for Macmillan.

“I’m very much looking forward to their coffee morning and I’m sure it’s going to go down a treat with shoppers. I have no doubt that they’ll hit their £1,000 target before the end of the year.”
