A MURDER investigation has been launched after a dad was stabbed in the neck in Trafford.

Police believe the victim was beckoned into the road by three men and he was stabbed after a scuffle.

Police were called to Royton Avenue, Sale, at at 11.10pm on Thursday, July 20 to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found a 34-year-old man with a stab wound to his neck.

First aid was administered by officers at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police have cordoned off a section of the road while an investigation takes place.

GMP’s Detective Inspector Mark Astbury, said: “Not even 12 hours have passed since this tragic scene of events took place but initial enquiries suggest the man was beckoned into the road by three other men and a short scuffle ensued before the fatal stab wound was inflicted.

“In the space of minutes, the lives of this man’s family have been turned upside down and his children have been left without a daddy so I’m urging anyone who either witnessed the incident itself or has information that would help us, to get in contact.

“We will always treat information with the strictest of confidence and you can pass information to us anonymously but please, do it as a matter of urgency.”
