AN art group in Old Trafford is helping youngsters to develop their creative skills.

Lanky’s under 5’s Art Group is held twice weekly on a Wednesday and Friday morning at at Emirates Old Trafford.

The group invites parents, guardians, careers and their children to get creative together.

Kay Floyd, community project officer at Lancashire County Cricket Club Foundation, who co-ordinates Lanky’s Art Group said: “We want to really highlight how fantastic and worthwhile Lanky’s Art Group is to so many children and their families.”

Each week the sessions, costing £2 per child, are themed around a particular story, event or nursery rhyme, all helping children learn and develop their skills, as well as helping them make new friends too.

Miriam Wild, sessional worker who delivers Lanky’s Arts Group said: “Not only is it a time where children are able to express their creativity through art, but they, along with their parents, guardians or carers are able to build relationships with others, and take part in other fun activities including arts and crafts, singing, music, dance and so much more.”

One parent said: “Great art activities, healthy snack, stories & Songs. Perfect combination!”

Another added: “He enjoys attending the group each week and showing of the crafts he has made. He also enjoys playing with the other children who attend and making new friends.”

A parent added: “Fantastic variety of activities within each session, in a relaxed and informal setting. This group is brilliant not just for the children but for the adults too.”
