WOULD-be burglars were rumbled by a homeowner as they tried to break into a house in Hale Barns yesterday evening.
The attempted burglary took place in Chapel Lane on Thursday January 5.
The would-be intruders climbed over a bin to try and get into a house but were disturbed by the occupant and fled emptyhanded.
Anyone with information about this incident or witnesses any suspicious behaviour in the area should contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
