TRAFFORD residents are invited to an annual Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning hosted by the Trafford Macmillan Wellbeing Team.

The event, on September 30 at The Trafford Macmillan Wellbeing Centre, is open to all members of the public who would like to enjoy some refreshments, browse the many stalls available and support the centre.

The Trafford Macmillan Wellbeing Centre, run by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, provides dedicated community support for cancer and life-limiting illnesses for anyone over the age of 18 years who lives in Trafford, or is registered with a Trafford GP.

A team experienced staff and volunteers at the centre provide advice, support or counselling to help people to manage their situation and improve their quality of life.

The support available includes a drop-in information service, bereavement counselling and complementary therapies to relieve stress and anxiety, such as reiki and reflexology.

There are also a range of therapeutic groups including art therapy, confidence building, fatigue management, mindfulness meditation, singing and gentle yoga.

When required, staff will work closely with existing hospital-based and other specialist services, and signpost people to local and national support services.

Denise Freeman, volunteer co-ordinator at Trafford Macmillan Wellbeing Centre, said: “We offer a warm, relaxed and confidential environment for people living with cancer or a life-limiting illness, and those connected to someone who is.

“This event is a great opportunity for people to find out about the support that’s available from the centre, while helping us to raise much needed funds.”

This coffee morning will be taking place between 10.30am and 12.30pm at the centre, which is located on the grounds of Trafford General Hospital, Moorside Road, Davyhulme.
