AN Altrincham solicitors has boosted two charities.

Over the past year, Myerson Solicitors has raised more than £19,000 for the Trafford-based charities – St Ann’s Hospice and Trafford Deaf Children’s Society.

Myerson’s efforts included cake sales, dress down Fridays, raffles and quizzes.

In addition, during the first weekend in July, a team of 58 Myerson staff and their friends and families also undertook their biggest fundraising event to date by completing the National Three Peaks Challenge, conquering Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

In total, £19,158 was raised for St Ann’s Hospice and Trafford Deaf Children’s Society and this was split equally between the two charities.

A cheque presentation took place at Myerson’s offices in Regent Road, Altrincham in September.

Lynn Chipperfield, from the Trafford Deaf Children’s Society, said: “We at Trafford Deaf Children's Society are hugely grateful to the staff at Myersons Solicitors for their wonderful support this past year.

"Their incredible fundraising makes it possible for us to provide ongoing support to deaf and hearing impaired children and their families across Trafford. We are able to provide more opportunities for children to meet others facing the same challenges as themselves and also for parents and carers to have the time to share experiences and build support for each other.”

Helen Cannell, from St Ann’s Hospice, said: “As a charity St Ann’s Hospice receives just one third of our funding from NHS, so we truly wouldn’t be able to do the work that we do without the support of local companies like Myerson.

"It’s amazing to see how far all of the staff at Myerson pushed themselves in the Three Peaks challenge to raise such a fantastic amount for the hospice. We’re grateful to everyone that contributed throughout their year of fundraising!”

Andrew Chapman, partner at Myerson said: “It has been fantastic to see so many members of staff at Myerson take part and contribute to the fundraising events we have held over the past year for St Ann’s Hospice and Trafford Deaf Children’s Society.

"We are really pleased to have raised such a significant amount of money for both charities and we are sure it will be put to good use."
