TRAFFORD is gearing up for an afternoon of free entertainment this Sunday August 28 with the second Goose Green Summer Festival.

The Trafford Sound stage between the Green Room and House Bar & Restaurant will host a variety of live bands, singers and a family entertainer, with Jordan Drinkwater kicking off the performances, followed by The Henry Revue, Zippy the entertainer, Blank Cheque, Liam McClair, Educated Risk, Casual Agenda and Prose.

Away from the stage there will be plenty going on for all the family with face-painting (small charge) from 2-6pm, a giant games area and a treasure hunt, with a family prize up for grabs.

Manchester Storm will also be making an appearance, with mascot Lightning Jack and a number of players joining in the fun ahead of the new ice-hockey season.

Runway Pilates will be giving tours of their studio and demonstrating their specialist Pilates equipment, and Ladyzone will have information about Altrincham’s women-only health, fitness and beauty centre.

Refreshments will be available from Goose Green’s businesses, with The House Restaurant running a barbeque and Café Cleo and La Piazza serving food throughout the afternoon.

Organised by Altrincham BID in partnership with the Goose Green Traders Federation and Trafford Sound, the festival will run from 2-8pm. Entry is free and all are welcome to celebrate the August bank holiday in the heart of the town centre.
