A PARTINGTON based charity which creates hand-sewn pyjamas and surgical gowns for children to wear while in hospital has received a boost to its funds, thanks to a £500 donation from GE Power.

Wrap Pyjama Fairies was set up in 2015 by mum-of-three, Amanda Chadwick, who created front-fastening pyjamas for daughter Nevaeh, who had been diagnosed with congenital heart disease.

Wrap Pyjama Fairies sew fun items for children facing hospital stays for anything from minor procedures to major heart surgery and chemotherapy.

Amanda said: “The kind donation from GE Power means we can make 100 pairs of beautiful pyjamas which will cheer the children up and remind them that they are not defined by their illness.

"This donation will create smiles and help children maintain their dignity during a very difficult time. Our volunteers are continuously creating fun pyjamas for those who need them.”

GE Power site manager Rainer Lueoend said “We were more than happy to help Wrap Pyjama Fairies, an admirable charity focused on providing this unique service to help provide some cheer to children all over the country while in hospital.”

Wrap Pyjama Fairies has more than 1,000 volunteers across the UK. It always on the lookout for additional volunteers. The pyjamas are easy to assemble and you don’t need to have great sewing skills to make them.
