STAFF At GE Power have supported the People’s Church at Partington by giving them £500 towards the cost of hiring the 'Eden Bus' during the summer.

Project site manager, Rainer Lueoend, said “We have been impressed by the work undertaken by this community church and wanted to assist them in their summer programme of events.”

Joe Smith, of People’s Church, said “The Eden Bus is a state of the art Mobile Youth Centre, with games consoles, seating areas and facilities such as a rock climbing wall.

"It provides a positive place for young people to get together. They regularly have groups of 50-70 young people using the bus. We are hoping to hire the bus for one evening a week during the summer months and for a whole day on our community fun day. This kind donation from GE will greatly help towards the cost of hiring the bus.”

People's Church has been established in the heart of Partington for more than 40 years. The church welcomes all people, regardless of background, upbringing, family history or current circumstances.

GE Power is one of the consortium partners for the construction of Carrington Power Station on Manchester Road. The gas-fired station will supply enough electricity to meet the average demands of a million households when operational.
