COMMUTERS and schoolchildren were left stranded by the roadside yesterday after a bus operator pulled services unexpectedly.

GHA Buses, which operated services from Knutsford to Macclesfield, Altrincham, Wilmslow and Northwich, went into administration on Wednesday, July 13, leaving passengers stranded without warning on Thursday morning.

The routes affected include the Connect 88 services between Wilmslow and Knutsford, Mobberley and Altrincham and the 200 service between Wilmslow and the Airport viewing park, via Styal.

Also affected is the 289 service between Northwich and Altrincham that serves Knutsford, High Legh and Little Bollington and the 27, 27A and 27B service between Knutsford and Macclesfield that also serves Chelford.

Cheshire East Council announced on Thursday, July 14, that the 289 Northwich to Altrincham service, which travels via Knutsford has been taken over by Howards and is therefore reinstated.
