KATE Green MP has resigned from the shadow cabinet.
The Stretford and Urmston MP broke the news that she was stepping down for her role as Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities on Twitter today.
She tweeted a photo of her resignation letter, captioned simply: 'My letter to Jeremy [Corbyn] advising my resignation from the shadow cabinet today'.
Ms Green's letter of resignation, which she tweeted this afternoon
Ms Green is one of 20 shadow cabinet members to sensationally quit over Mr Corbyn's EU campaign efforts, which have been described as 'lacklustre'.
The party was plunged into turmoil following the referendum's Leave result on Friday.
The resignations follow a meeting this morning where Mr Corbyn was urged to step down.
More to follow.
