A WOMAN has been hospitalised after being knocked down on the A56 in Sale - just 350 yards from the spot a 25-year-old was hit by a car and killed earlier this week.
Emergency crews scrambled to Washway Road, near to its junction of Langdale Road, at around 3.30pm today, Wednesday June 22.
A 32-year-old woman pedestrian had been hit by a red Peugeot 207 after it failed to stop at the traffic lights outside of the new Coop store.
She was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital, where she was treated for bruising and injuries to the ribs.
Police said that the driver of the car initially left the scene but returned later.
The incident took place just a day after Helena Thurm, 25, from Altrincham, tragically died.
She had been hit by a car on the same road, near to the Woodcote Road/Park Road junction, on Monday.
The A56 was closed at 4.10pm and reopened at 4.45pm.
No-one has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
