LEADING trainer and sports fashion retailer, JD, is getting set to open a store at Stretford Mall.

With the opening of Costa Coffee next month and Aldi in summer, JD is the latest in a long list of retailers to announce it is joining the shopping destination over the last six months.

Stretford Mall centre manager, Gareth Wilkins, said he was thrilled to be able to welcome JD to the centre.

“We’re delighted to be adding a retailer of JD’s calibre to our continually growing offering here at Stretford Mall,” he said. “They have spent the past 35 years establishing themselves as market leaders, and our shoppers will soon have access to their range of limited edition and exclusive designs from top brands such as Adidas Originals and Nike.”

Due to open in June, the new 5,280 sq ft sports and fashion store will be located in Kingsway Mall in the heart of the centre.

Gareth said this latest arrival heralded another exciting chapter in the future of Stretford Mall. “After the recent enhancement works and a number of upcoming new store openings, JD coming to the centre underlines our commitment to ensuring that we have the best possible range of shops for all of our customers.

“Work has also now finished on our extension programme, further improving the facilities here at the centre.

“Foodstore giant Aldi has also begun the work to fit out its new 16,500 sq ft supermarket - the first in the town - and we’re looking forward to an exciting and prosperous year to come.”
